SONICA has named St. Michael’s House, Skerries, as its charity partner of the year.  

The charity partnership will see students and teachers at the special education school benefit by support from SONICA, through fundraising and awareness for the charity as well as access to SONICA’s local headquarters, First Landings and its state of the art 125-seater auditorium, EMPIRE.  

As part of its corporate responsibility programme, over 60 of SONICA’s employees were tasked with nominating their charity partner of the year, with St. Michael’s House being selected as a result, given its significance in the community and the importance of supporting young people with complex needs.  

Donnacha Neary, MD of SONICA, said: “Since our establishment in 2013, we’ve always sought to support our local communities and this new partnership allows us to extend our support to a cause and organisation right on our doorstep. Our employees are deeply committed to giving back and given the last 12 months, are keener than ever make a difference in our community.”

St. Michael’s House is a Special National School in Skerries and is one of one hundred and twenty-five Department of Education Special Schools in the country. In addition, St. Michael’s House is the patron for six special schools in the Dublin area.

In addition to the charity of the year initiative, SONICA recently raised funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation as part of their Employee Awards Ceremony. The company has also taken part annually in the Dragon at the Docks property industry fundraising event, held at Grand Canal Dock in Dublin.
